Make Major News: Somebody Lost Their Ass Edition
* By all accounts the different Download Fests seem to have sucked something major. Our friend Will did some screen printing at the DF in San Fran and was astounded to watch Jesus & Mary Chain and Gang of Four play to what he says couldn’t have been more than 500 people in a stadium. Man Man played to about the same number at the Philly DF, and stuck around to watch Iggy Pop play to a couple thousand people at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden (the venue holds 25,000). American Badass Kid Rock was to play a DF in the U.K., and was so disgusted with the shabby backstage conditions he pulled out last minute. But not before he went to the promoters office and took a piss on his couch. [Angry Ape]
* L.A. rapper/producer and N.W.A. founder Dr. Dre’s son is dead at the age of 20. Currently reading a book by Dr. Dre’s mother and have just now made it to the chapters in which she writes about Dre’s brother’s death at a young age. Rough. [BBC]
* Heidi Montag’s new atrocious song “Overdosin’” now has a video that’s soooooo last year. Philly’s own Sweatheart bested the fitness video thing well before the vile Hills’ tart got a hold of it. [PW's Style Phile]
* Live Nation’s stock has risen 28% despite “razor-thin profit margins.” [Coolfer]
