Dear Nicole Atkins,
We’re calling bullshit on your new publicity photo (left). You just don’t look like that. Hell, you don’t really even look like this . And it wouldn’t be a problem so much if you weren’t going for the whole New Jersey working-girl, if-Springsteen-had-ovaries thing you so eloquently mastered on your debut Neptune City (or so we’ve been told). We get it. There are no more Patti Smiths, those wild horses have long been broken. People listen with their eyes, yadda yadda. But just look at you, airbrushed to within an inch of your life. For shame. Next time tell the suits to back. the. fuck. up.
