Iron & Wine To Headline 48th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival (For Now)

One of the longest-running music fests of its type in the land (your land and my land), the Philadelphia Folk Festival delivers its 48th edition on August 14-16 at the Old Pool Farm in Schwenksville, PA. This year’s lineup is headed up (for now) by everyone’s favorite indie-folkie, Sam Beam (a.k.a. Iron & Wine). We say “for now” because the brains behind Philly Folk Fest, Point Entertainment’s Jesse Lundy and Rich Kardon will be announcing two more big headliners on June 7. (We know who, but our lips are sealed! You’ll be stoked!) The current lineup, announced yesterday at World Cafe Live, includes Sonny Landreth, Langhorne Slim, Alela Diane, Del McCoury, Slo-Mo featuring Mic Wrecka, Tom Rush, and dozens more acts.

Early bird ticket pricing is available now; single-day tix will run you $44 at the moment, while passes for all three days run $145-170 (depending on if you’re camping in a tent, in a vehicle, or will just be wandering around stoned in a field all night). Plenty more info available at the Philadelphia Folk Fest website.
