Badmaster Brings The Local Rock

We’re always happy to catch wind of new stuff coming from local noise/punk/experimental label Badmaster Records — especially since it’s rather infrequent — so it’s good to see that they’ve issued two new releases from two great Philly bands for your listening pleasure:
* Hot Guts “Ballad of Jon Simon” 7-inch: “3 songs of of deep effect driven guitar and clockwork drumming. Just a touch of synth to round it out.”
Here’s one of the new Hot Guts tracks to listen to: “Abandon At Leisure”
* My Mind “Path Masher” 7-inch: “My Mind play fast as hell, blink and you’ve missed it, Kinks/Husker Du influenced Punk-Pop (not the other way around!). Raging through just over 10 minutes of music, you get 11 songs, packaged in a beautiful full color sleeve, inside and out with a funny little 3″ CD of alternative lyrics in the style of an old radio program(?). For fans of Buzzcocks & drum triggers.”
Here’s one of the new My Mind tracks to listen to: “Ponderous Didacticat”
Badmaster’s also got an AIDS Wolf/Satanized split 7-inch on the way soon.
Meanwhile, Hot Guts are at Kung Fu Necktie on Friday, December 11th with Tickley Feather.
