My Top Album & Single of 2009
‘Tis the season for coming up with lists: “Top Albums of the Year,” “Top Songs of the Year,” “Top Concerts of the Year,” “Top Albums of the Decade,” etc. etc. Everybody’s compiling their lists. And as my pal (and fellow music journo) Maggie Serota put it the other day, “The only thing that bores me more than writing these lists is reading other journalists’ year end lists.” Amen to that, sister. So I’m gonna keep it simple, and I’m gonna give you just my top album of the year and my top single of the year.
Top Album — Pissed Jeans, King of Jeans. It just fucking slays, and that’s all that needs to be said about it.
