Original Toy Soldiers Duo Performs Tomorrow Night…And There’s A New Toy Soldiers B-Sides EP Out, Too

Way back in April of 2009, when we first tipped you to local roots/mod-rock outfit Toy Soldiers (who’ve since gone on to release a terrific debut LP on Mad Dragon and set themselves up as one of Philly’s brightest emerging bands), the group was essentially singer-guitarist Ron Gallo and drummer Mike Baurer. Baurer subsequently left the band, Gallo rounded up some of his musical pals to help make the album and tour, but at the moment Gallo is in the midst of reconfiguring the Toy Soldiers lineup and bringing in some fresh faces. In the meantime, he’s linked back up with Baurer for some “reunion” gigs under the moniker the R&B Band (Ron and Baurer, get it?) They’ll be at the Blockley Pourhouse tomorrow night along with Roadside Graves, Black River Thieves, and the Tressels [8pm/$7].

Meanwhile, Toy Soldiers just issued a digital B-Sides EP with four songs that didn’t make it onto their 2010 debut LP, Whisper Down the Lane. You can download it right here on a “Pay what you want/Name your price/You’ll probably pay one penny but you should probably pay more to support a great local Philly band in their quest to make more great music” basis.

You can also preview the EP right here, right now:
