Daylin Leach, the hero state senator from Montgomery/Delaware counties wants to make it both within your smugness and financial incentive to use your own tote bags at Trader Joe’s. His proposed bill would place a 2-cent tax on plastic bags given to consumers by retailers. The Center for Consumer Freedom hates this idea. They claim reusable bags are filthy, contain lead and that taxes like this one create nanny states.
