DAILY GRINDER: No More “M” and “F” Stickers on SEPTA Transpasses (some day)!

There’s some anti-union legislation heading through the PA House right now. Specifically, Rep. Metcalf of Cranberry Township is looking to end mandatory union membership for school, government and some business employees, calling the practice “tyranny.” While not as extreme as bills in Ohio and Wisconsin, this is similar to what’s called a “Right to Work” bill. Governor Tom Corbett has already gone on record saying he’d sign such legislation, but never imagined it’d get to his desk. [Post Gazette]

Even so, the governor’s doing what he can to piss unions off. He wants the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 13, the state’s largest employee union, to take a 4 percent pay cut. [Commonwealth Confidential]

The Senate Education Committee approved a bill which would require a two-thirds majority to raise property tax. Here’s Montgomery County State Sen. Daylin Leach, not happy:

In the latest showing of patheticism on behalf of former Philadelphia Housing Authority executive Carl Greene, he’s asking a court block PHA from giving investigators his “outside legal billings” information. [Inky]
