Jimmy Rollins Swings & Misses at Guinness World Record

Hundreds of people took their lunch breaks on the Parkway Monday to witness Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins attempt to destroy a world record: to hit a baseball further than Babe Ruth’s 1921 575-foot record.

Fans hoped for the best, but Rollins couldn’t seem to reach the 500-foot mark. Still, fans seemed just as excited to have seen their favorite Phillies player smack a few balls on the streets of Philadelphia.

Red Bull sponsored the event, dubbed “Red Bull Cranks,” and plenty of Red Bull girls cheered on Rollins and showed the city’s support.

Despite the shortfall, we still love Rollins!
