With duct tape tightly covering her mouth and an oversized white T-shirt drowning her small body, three-year-old Paige Kwiatkoski patiently poses and concentrates to make an “O” with her hand as her mother, Kimberley, holds up a “V.” The two joined hundreds of others on Friday at the University of Pennsylvania’s LGBT Center to get their portraits taken and to send the same message they’re spelling out for the camera: “LOVE.”

Philadelphia joined the NOH8 Campaign to protest response to the 2008 electoral defeat of Proposition 8 in California. Funds raised by the campaign will go toward promoting anti-discrimination through “interactive media” around the country – Interweb tubes, radio, TV, magazines.
