DAILY GRINDER: Lawyer Blames Attorney General for Joe Paterno’s Death
We love accused child torturer Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer, Karl Rominger. And not in a good way: He just has that umph! you only see in the slimiest, greasiest of defense attorneys. Now, he’s blaming the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and grand jury report about the investigation into his client, for murdering former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. Yes, really! “In other words,” said Rominger to a mid-state ABC affiliate, “[the report] was designed to hurt Mr. Sandusky publicly, to whip up public foment against him, and Joe Paterno became collateral damage of that…What it did was give the public a misimpression, and that same misimpression was adopted by the Board of Trustees at the emergency meeting. I firmly believe that the attorney general’s office owes an apology to the public for throwing Joe Paterno under the bus by trying to trump up the charges against Jerry Sandusky.”
Former Philadelphia Schools Superintendent Arlene Ackerman, as you may remember, filed for unemployment benefits when she was bought out by the city and other, anonymous homebodies. Now, she’s been rejected. Luckily, Gov. Tom Corbett has “relaxed” his proposed food stamp rules.
A Philadelphia man who’s got 44 arrests under his belt and avoided conviction every time, has finally been found guilty of armed robbery and will serve at least 32 years.
The Philadelphia Federation of Teachers has filed a complaint against school nurse cuts, saying school noontime aides dispensing medicine to students violates state rules. The district laid off 47 nurses effective December 31 and faces a $700 million budget shortfall.

Pennsylvania Welfare Secretary Gary Alexander has an investment consulting firm based out of Rhode Island. The State Ethics Commission ruled this does not pose a conflict of interest.
A bill put forth by Philadelphia Councilman Darrell Clarke, and passed by Council, which would restrict how satellite dishes could be installed on houses, is being blocked by the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association, who filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission.
Sandusky’s lawyer has a valid point.
The AG recklessly charged Sandusky with sexual assault of an unidentified boy (victim 2) based only on McQueary’s suspicions. McQueary testified that he saw no sexual contact, just suspected it.
The AG released an incendiary Grand Jury report that lied about McQueary’s testimony.
The AG excluded the exculpatory testimony of Dr.Dranov from the Grand Jury report. Before going to Paterno, Dranov asked McQueary three times if he had seen anything sexual, and three times he said no.
The AG has not released the police statement of victim 2, who was identified only after the Grand Jury report was released. That seems highly suspicious and suggests to me victim 2 failed to corroborate McQueary’s suspicions that he was sexually assaulted in 2002.
I think Penn State should be lobbying to get a special prosecutor appointed to investigate misconduct by the PA Attorney General.
