Rachel Maddow Loves Her Some Philadelphia Weekly

Philadelphia Weekly’s politics blog (this one) got a shout out on the Rachel Maddow Show the other night with regard to a blog we wrote about a pro-Rick Santorum, anti-gay robocall produced by a group called “Jews and Christians Together.” The crank yanker, used in the Ohio primary on March 6, was used again Tuesday night in Wisconsin.

The audio invites those picking up the telephone to vote for “social sanity and Rick Santorum” rather than “homosexuality and Mitt Romney.” It also notes that Mitt Romney is in favor of homosexuals in the military and male teachers wearing dresses. Check out the video below:

“As Governor, Romney signed “Gay Youth Pride Day” declarations, promoted homosexuality in our elementary schools, and unconstitutionally ordered state officials to make Massachusetts America’s first same-sex marriage state,” they note.

Commenters at our original blog noted that the same robocall was used in Illinois. In other words, it’s being used everywhere Santorum loses. We want to believe internal Romney Campaign polling shows that Republicans are sick of the bigotry and, therefore, Romney is funding the “Jews and Christians Together” robocalls himself, which would be so Whoa! But we know better.
