DAILY GRINDER: Santorum Defeats Paul, Gingrich in PA Primary!

This morning, it’s all election results (almost). The most-watched races in the city were likely in the Republican Senate race (Tom Smith beat PA GOP-endorsed Steve Welch), Democrat Attorney General (Kathleen Kane beat Patrick Murphy) and the 182nd PA House District (Brian Sims beat Babette Josephs).

Statewide, five state Reps. were ousted in their respective primaries.

Democrat Bob Casey only took in 80 percent of the vote.

Republican Senator Pat Toomey endorsed Tom Smith after the Associated Press called the race for him. (Balls!) Toomey endorsed Romney within hours of Santorum suspending his campaign a few weeks back.

Oh, and speaking of Santorum, he took second to Romney in Pennsylvania last night (who only got 58 percent of the vote). Santorum crushed Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich, considering.

Santorum was on CNN last night and Piers Morgan tried so, so hard to get him to endorse Mitt Romney. He didn’t. But news organizations are taking his vow to support the Republican nominee as an endorsement of his former foe, anyway.

All results of all contested Philly elections are here.

Which means it’s time to get ready for the generals. God we love the generals!

Otherwise, there’s still some stuff happening. Like, say, all your worst fears about the Philadelphia School District coming true.

And a rabid fox is terrorizing Wayne, PA (still don’t know why I get those press releases, but OK.)

After the Philadelphia Orchestra Association withdrew from the national musicians’ pension fund, the national group threatened litigation. It’s been settled.

LOL is that why Democrats won 5 of the 6 special elections?
