Gov. Tom Corbett Protests Begin at 4 p.m.

How dare you try to change my blueprint for human extinction!

Don't edit my blueprint for human extinction!

Tom Corbett is in town today for a meeting with the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (who, by the way, have marketed themselves in the past as being not as evil as the U.S. Chamber; they have no affiliation) at the Prince Music Theater at Broad and Chestnut in Center City.

Meeting him will be a horde of community groups and organizations, including Fight For Philly, Act UP Philadelphia, DecarceratePA and Occupy Philadelphia.

According to an invite to the protest at Fight for Philly’s Facebook page, “Corbett is a corporate lackey for the 1%. He has stocked his administration with businessmen who are putting their friends in front of the Commonwealth.” The group plans on creating a “human red carpet” for the governor into the theater.

Organizing groups made sure to point out this morning that today’s protests were happening—rain or shine. And now that the rain has stopped (for now…UPDATE: Strike that, it’s raining again), a large group is expected to meet the man who refuses to raise taxes, come hell or high water. I’ll be live tweeting from the location. Follow me for all the action, assuming there is some action: @randylobasso.

Full report tomorrow.
