DAILY GRINDER: New State Voter ID Card Coming?

Pennsylvania officials said they will soon unveil a new state identification card which will make it easier to vote. (?) It will be “formerly announced” in the next few weeks. (?) “If you can’t meet the PennDot requirements for a non-driving ID because you are having trouble getting the necessary documentation together, there will be a way for you to obtain the Department of State ID for voting purposes only,” Department of State spokesman Nick Winkler said. (?) This shouldn’t confuse things at all.

No shock here: As forces around the Mitt Romney campaign become increasingly negative and out-of-contextual video edit happy, they’ve cast former Governor Ed Rendell in their latest ad. It’s Karl Rove’s super PAC this time, and they point to the time Rendell said the Obama camp went “too far” with their criticisms of Mitt Romney. Oddly, the ad, which also points to the deficit and job losses, is not playing in Pennsylvania.

Deputy chairwoman of the Pennsylvania Republican Party Renee Amoore has been saying she had to lay off hundreds of workers because of Obama’s handling of the economy and high taxes. Now she says whoops, that’s not what happened. And her business taxes actually haven’t gone up under Obama.

Penn State students are “protecting” the statue of a man who protected a pedophile from justice and, by so doing, ruined several children’s lives forever. Seems about right.

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection to the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl in Southwest Philadelphia. They’ve been charged with rape, simple assault, criminal conspiracy and other offenses.

Monsignor William Lynn, the 61 year old priest monsignor convicted of endangering children has asked for probation instead of prison. His lawyers still say he has “never harbored any intent to harm a child.”

The man who was seen on tape trying to kidnap a young girl has turned himself in.

Members of the U.S. Conference of Mayors joined Mayor Nutter in the city yesterday and noted as stated continue bouncing back from the recession, spending on infrastructure needs to grow.

And not that I review movies or anything, or am qualified to do that, but I saw the Dark Knight Rises last night. WORTH THE HYPE.
