Good morning Monday afternoon, PhillyNow readers. We’ve listed the community event listings for the next business week below. It includes a ton of zoning/neighborhood association meetings, as well as some City Council hearings — most well known of which is probably the Paid Sick Days campaign, which will hold a hearing tomorrow morning. Monday, March 4
Board Meeting. The Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association will hold its 15-member board meeting, which is open to the public. 7pm. NLNA Community Center. Third and Fairmount. NLNA.org.
Public Safety Community Meeting. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association will talk about matters of public safety. 7pm. Weccacoe Playground Building. 400 Catherine St.
Tuesday, March 5
Paid Sick Days. City Council will hold a public hearing on the “Promoting Healthy Families and Workplaces” bill—or, as you and I know it, the Paid Sick Days bill. And: Community organizing groups will be holding a press conference before the event and pack City Council. 10am. City Hall, Room 400. 1 Penn Square. Phila.gov.
Young Professional Speakers Event. Councilman Kenyatta Johnson is hosting an event by and for “young professionals” in Philadelphia. It’ll feature Dr. Keith Leaphart of Replica Creative, and Nicole Cashman of Cashman Associates. 6pm. City Hall, 4th Floor. 1 Penn Square.
Zoning Committee Meeting. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association will hold a zoning meeting to discuss a coffee shop on Catherine St. and a day care center on Bainbridge St. 7pm. 400 Catherine St.
General Meeting. The Passyunk Square Neighborhood Association will hold its general meeting, open to the public. 6:30pm. John the Baptist Church, 1232 Tasker St.
How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia. Mohsin Hamid will hold a book reading and talk at the Free Library Central Branch, where he’ll discuss the aforementioned novel about “rural boy’s climb to business tycoon as he amasses an empire selling the most scant and necessary of resources: water.” 7:30pm. Zoning Workshop. The South of South Neighborhood Association will be holding a zoning workgroup meeting to talk about neighborhood projects and citywide Zoning reform. 6:30pm. SOSNA Office. 1901 Christian St. southofsouth.org.
Zoning Committee Meeting. The West Mt. Airy Neighborhood Association will hold their zoning meeting to “express your opinions and concerns” about neighborhood matters. 7:30pm. Summit Presbyterian Church. Greene and Westview Streets.
Thursday, March 7
City Council. Public hearings will be held regarding parks, playgrounds, recreation centers and public property. 1pm. City Hall, Room 400.

Friday, March 8
Celebrating Women and the Arts. The Mt. Airy Garage will hold a celebration all weekend of women’s contributions to art and society, beginning Friday evening with Outloud! A Celebration of Female Voices, featuring music and poetry. 7pm. Mt. Airy Garage. 11 W. My Airy Ave. $10 suggested donation per event/$25 for the weekend.
