Sat. night: Join me at this book party & reading

Saturday evening, join us to celebrate the release of Get Out of My Crotch: Twenty-One Writers Respond to America’s War on Women’s Rights and Reproductive Health with a reading a soiree in Brewerytown.

I’m thrilled to be featured in this very necessary anthology. And I’m in good company! The full list of contributors include Roxane Gay, Betty MacDonald, Katha Pollitt, Dolores P., Sari Botton, Addy Robinson McCulloch, Tara Murtha, Sarah Mirk, Kari O’Driscoll, Martha Bayne, Janet Frishberg, Mira Ptacin, J. Victoria Sanders, s.e. smith, Camille Hayes, Rebecca O’Connor, Lidia Yuknavitch, Elissa Bassist, Kevin Sampsell, Kate Sheppard, Rebecca Cohen.

Published in January, the Philadelphia event was scheduled to coincide with the beginning of the Kermit Gosnell trial, a case which has significantly impacted abortion clinic regulation—the subject I explore in Ripple Effect, my piece in the book.

We’re thrilled to be able to say that Kate Sheppard of Mother Jones (and former PW intern!) and North Carolina-based freelance writer Addy Robinson McCulloch will be joining us to read from their essays, as well as former longtime Pennsylvania House representative Babette Josephs and Rep. Michelle Brownlee, who represents the district where Gosnell’s grisly clinic went undetected for so long.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP here.
