U.S. Sen. Bob Casey Still Not Moving on Marriage Equality

Proving old habits die hard, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) hasn’t made a decision. This time, it’s over marriage equality in the United States.

The same week numerous U.S. senators from blue and red states — Claire McCaskill of Missouri, Mark Warner of Virginia, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and others — have come out for marriage equality to the accompaniment of landmark Supreme Court cases and peeps all over the country changing their Facebook pictures to a red equal sign, our own conservative-liberal senator remains one of just nine Democrats in the Senate still opposed to same-sex marriage.

Don’t be surprised. This is the same guy whose stance on a woman’s right to choose is so moderate, it basically doesn’t exist.

Maybe we’ll see a decision later today, soon after Heidi Hietkamp of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party declares her support. Then, and only then, might it be safe to come out of the closet? Which is to say: Hey Bob! Make me update this post!
