PhillyNow Calendar: civic events, May 13-17
You like bicycles? Sure you do! This week, there are two bicycle-heavy events meant to increase two-wheeled awareness. Wednesday night will be the annual “Ride of Silence,” in which bicyclists ride around the city with a police escort to remember those riders killed on the road. And Friday is “Bike to Work” day. Recent numbers show that just 1.8 percent of Philadelphia workers bike to work three or more days per week. Time to change that, Philly.

Bike to Work Day. It’s that time of year, again: Time to bike to work. Some of us do it every day because we’re way too cheap to purchase all those tokens, even in the winter, when we regret each and every pedal and spend so much time thinking of the cold in our faces, we barely realize there’s unused trolley track all over the city—and we’re headed right for it!
7:30am. Meet up at Lloyd Hall, 1 Boathouse Row.
