Monday, June 17

City Council Committee on Global Opportunities and Creative/Innovative Economy. “Resolution authorizing Council’s Committee on Global Opportunities and Creative/Innovative Economy to hold hearings to investigate how to fully take advantage of global opportunities and the creative/innovative economy to spur economic development in Philadelphia by increasing overseas investments, incubating technology and innovation, encouraging creativity, and attracting and retaining the workforce to create good-paying, family-sustaining jobs with benefits and improve the quality of life for all residents of Philadelphia.”

Philly Rising Kingsessing. The Kingsessing area Philly Rising meeting will include a presentation by Philly311.

Take Back Your Neighborhood. This group meets once a month to unite Northeast Philadelphia residents.

Tuesday, June 18

City Council Committee on Rules. City Council will hear several ordinances to amend the zoning maps in certain areas throughout the city.

City Council Committee on Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. “An Ordinance amending Title 15 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Parks and Recreation,” by adding a new Chapter requiring an Impact Statement, Cost Estimate and Escrow for Repairs, before the issuance of any permit or license to use certain parks or recreation facilities, under certain terms and conditions.î

Code for Philly Workshop. There will be a workshop to work on civic technology projects.

Civic Association Meeting. The Northwood Civic Association will hold a general meeting.

Police Service Area Meeting. The West Mt. Airy Neighbors Association will hold a crime prevention meeting.
7pm. Germantown Jewish Center, 400 W. Ellet St.

Philly Rising Lawncrest. The Lawncrest Philly Rising group will meet for a general meeting and the Philly311 mobile squad will attend to promote their mobile app.

Zoning Meeting. The South Broad Street Neighbors Assocation will hold a zning meeting to discuss an application to build eight new apartments.
7pm. Methodist Hospital, 2301 S. Broad St., Morgan Conference Room.

Zoning Committee Meeting. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association will hold a zoning committee meeting to discuss construction along Carpenter and a new food shop along Lombard.

Wednesday, June 19

City Council Committee of the Whole. City Council will hear several ordinances with regard to real estate taxes.

Philly Rising. The monthly Philly rising meeting in St. Hugh’s will take place and feature a representative from the mayor’s office of education to speak about GED options.
6pm. 167 W. Allegheney Ave., HACE Community Room.

Neighborhood Liaison Training. There will be training to become a neighborhood liaison for Philly311.
6:30pm. Municipal Services Building 16th Floor. 1401 JFK Blvd.

Philly Rising Elmwood. There will be a Philly Rising Meeting in the Elmwood section of the city. The Philly311 mobile crew will be there to promote their app.
7pm. 2128 Island Ave.

Sustainability Committee Meeting. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association will hold a sustainability committee meeting to discuss ways to make that neighborhood more green and sustainable.

Thursday, June 20

City Council Committee of the Whole. City Council will hear several resolutions appointing members of the Germantown Special Services District of Philadelphia.

West Philadelphia EPIC Stakeholder meeting. There will be an EPIC stakeholder meeting on West Chestnut Street.
12pm. 4725 Chestnut St.

Northwest Philadelphia EPIC Stakeholder. There will be a meeting attended by the Philly311 mobile squad.
1pm. 2111-31 Eastburn Ave.

Hunting Park EPIC Stakeholder. There will be an EPIC Stakeholder meeting in Hunting Park. The Philly311 mobile squad will be there. Those dudes are epic.
4pm. Antonia Pantoja Community Charter School, 4101 Rising Sun Ave.

General Membership Meeting. The Spring Garden CDC will hold a general membershup meeting and election of board and officers.
6pm. Church Hall, 19th and North St.

Civic Association Meeting. The Summerdale Civic Association will hold its monthly meeting.
7pm. Houseman Rec Center, 5091 Summerdale Ave.

Civic Association Meeting. The Upper Holmesburg civic association will hold a general meeting.
7pm. Marion Hall, 8532 Frankford Ave.

General Meeting. The Queen Village Neighborhood Association will hold a general meeting, open to the public. There will be a Penn’v Village information session, as well.

Friday, June 21

Meet the Neighbors. The Fishtown Neighbors Association will hold a party so neighbors can meet one another. There will be drinks, food and other cool stuff.
$10 suggested donation. 6pm. New Kensington CDC Garden Center, Frankford and Berks.
