Fight For Philly Action at 12:30pm at Grover Cleveland Mastery Charter: Corporate education reformers are coming to Philly on Monday, September 30th to discuss plans to de-fund and privatize the public school system. Fight for Philly is mounting a protest against the corporate agenda.

Support Khepera Charter School Teachers in Their Fight for a Fair Contract: School staff at  Khepera Charter, one of the few unionized charters in the city, have been working for a year without a contract in the face of the administration demanding give backs that will hurt students and teachers alike.  The staff, along with some parents, are picketing and during the negotiation session.   They have called for community supporters to join them.

City Council. The Committee on Streets and Services of the Council of the City of Philadelphia will hold a Public Hearing.

An Ordinance amending Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Traffic Code,” by permitting the record owner of an impounded vehicle to transfer ownership of the vehicle to the City, in lieu of incurring additional fees and charges for continued storage, revising penalty provisions and making technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions.

130488: An Ordinance amending Chapter 12-2900 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Contractor Parking,” by adjusting the fee for the issuance of Contractor Parking Permits.

130561: An Ordinance amending Chapter 12-3000 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Use Of An Automated Red Light Enforcement System To Prevent Red Light Violations,” by authorizing the installation of a red light enforcement system at the intersection of Island Avenue and Bartram Avenue, all under certain terms and conditions.

130563: An Ordinance amending Chapter 12-2700 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Permit Parking Districts,” by changing district boundaries and adjusting the fee for the issuance and renewal of resident parking permits.
