Former City Commissioner Joe Duda dies

Former City Commissioner Joe Duda died yesterday. He served the office from 1996-2012 and was a Republican party leader during that time, as well. According to a source, he had apparently been battling cancer.

“We regret to inform you of the passing of former City Commissioner, longtime Executive Director and leader of the 66th Ward Joe Duda,” reads a statement on the GOP’s Facebook page, put out by executive director Joe DeFelice. “Joe committed his life to the Philadelphia Republican City Community and the City of Philadelphia and will truly be missed.”
