The Philadelphia Flower Show is coming to town on March 1st. And there, amidst all the flowers, will be eight new bike racks designed by artists from Philadelphia and around the country.

The rack designs were chosen amongst 150 entries during a summer 2013 contest made possible by the Knight Foundation and will be installed around Center City this spring, “at or around City Hall, the Parkway’s Sister Cities Plaza and Café Cret, Boathouse Row, Penn Center Plaza and the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Perelman Building, among others,” according to a press release. Makes sense, of course; Philadelphia is the most-biked big city in the country, and our numbers are rising.

The racks (including Bird and Partly Sunny, the designs of which are featured in this blog) will be on display in a “sculpture garden”-type setting at the Flower show. And soon, you’ll be able to attach your bicycle to them.
