Trend I’m Tired Of: Converse
When a brand of shoes—not knock offs, but actual honest-to-god Converse All Stars— can be purchased from Mandee, Delia’s and Target, the trend is over. When everyone from hipsters to babies to grandpas are wearing the same style of sneakers, the trend is over. When a shoe is available in every color of the rainbow (including sequins), the trend is over. It’s time for a change, people. Get out there and start shoe shopping.
Converse aren’t trends so much as…shoes. Saying you’re over them is like saying, “You know what I’m over? Pants!” or “Spaghetti: that shit is mad over, yo.” They’re cheap. They look good. They come in hundreds of colors. They’re perfectly utilitarian foot fashion! Don’t piss on the classics, E!

These shoes have been made since 1917. I think they’re far beyond being a trend. Jellies are a trend, Chuck Taylors are an American icon and the most worn sneaker in history.
