This week in Philly Etsy…
The neatest things posted this week by Philadelphia etsy sellers. If you’re an etsy seller in the Philly area and want to be considered, drop me a link to your store at emily.guendelsberger@gmail.com and I’ll add it to my feed. But if you listed your location as Philadelphia, I’ve probably got you on the RSS radar already. Anyway, let’s… commence…

Oh man, I was trying to figure out which image was best to use for elloh’s shop, but I like so many of them that I had to arbitrarily decide on this one based on my visit to the Wall of Swayze in POPE’s ladies’ room last night (I may have to start taking pictures and doing a top 10 places to pee in the city or something. Send in nominations!).
Anyway, I really like elloh. She makes paintings of pop-culture situations, then sells prints. As I said, there’s too many I’d love to have on my wall to show here, but here’s a few more you’re not such a Dirty Dancing fan:
8.5 x 11 ode to pop culture prints from elloh, $35.
OMG. etsy seller Lacewood actually makes her hand-knit lace jewelry out of vegan yarn she makes from her pet angora bunny and some sort of tofu byproduct. I am not even making this up. I would catch that delicate thing on a zipper and rip it within the first five minutes of owning it, but maybe there’s someone out there who won’t. Lace bracelet, Lacewood, $30.
The leash is made of the words “J’ai le goût des homards, qui sont tranquilles, sérieux, savent les secrets de la mer, n’aboient pas…” which is attributed to French poet Gérard de Nerval, who would walk his pet lobster with a ribbon.
Translation:
“I have a liking for lobsters. They are peaceful, serious creatures. They know the secrets of the sea, they don’t bark…”
Pet Lobster shirt, Xenotees, $22.
(must have been cold at that photo shoot, damn)

Neckwarmers (or as I was mentally calling them, giant neck doughnuts) appeared in a number of collections in fall 2009 fashion week. Designers this season appear to prefer your above-the-shoulders parts partially obscured:

Above: Derek Lam, Rodarte and DKNY. Want to be ahead of the game for next fall? EvaForeva already makes giant neck doughnuts. I mean neckwarmers. I doubt they’re as expensive as the Rodarte ones, and seriously, with this wind lately I would not at all mind if a form like this came into style, it looks warm as hell. Huge pumpkin orange neckwarmer with buttons by EvaForeva, $40.
