Tea-bagging in style

I would like to thank the conservative movement for making it possible for Jackson West at NBC Philly to write the lede “A new craze is sweeping the nation — ‘tea-bagging.’ “ I would like to thank them even more for the inevitable New York Times piece that will try to explain why so many people can’t stop giggling when anyone tries to use the newly widespread term ‘tea-bag’ as a verb seriously, because watching the New York Times do the complicated “can’t say balls can’t say balls can’t say balls” dance is going to be great.

So PW Style went down to LOVE Park, where the Philly tea-bag protest was this afternoon, to see what tea-baggers are wearing these days! Pics after the jump…

As one might expect, umbrellas, jackets and Obama caricatures were very in. Unlike previous political protests we’ve attended, there were no dreadlocks to be found at this event.

Soggy flags also seemed to be quite the fashion.

The Fox News logo was seen simply everywhere. But by far the best-dressed people braving the weather today were this very nice couple, who said they had never met before today:

And you can observe in the background the Ron Paul 2008 guys, who are admirably holding the line against the fact that it is 2009.

Don’t forget to mail your taxes!

PS: the tag on the end of the NBC article reads “Jackson West would love to see the look of disappointment on the faces of San Franciscans turning up to any local tea-bagging protests.”
