Free crafty tickets

If you’re interested in the independent-crafter scene that’s going on right now, Linda Johnson at Little Flower designs (you may have seen her stuff at Art Star or any number of neat-stuff-selling stores) has some free tickets to give away to the Philly screening of Handmade Nation, a documentary about the current “Make stuff!” scene.

Handmade Nation documents a movement of artists, crafters and designers that recognize a marriage between historical techniques, punk and DIY (do it yourself) ethos while being influenced by traditional handiwork, aesthetics, politics, feminism and art…

In 2006 first-time director Faythe Levine traveled to 15 cities, interviewing 80 individuals. Levine captured the virtually tight-knit community that exists through websites, blogs and online stores and connects to the greater public through independent boutiques, galleries and craft fairs.

Looks totally neat for people like or make handmade stuff, so don’t let free tickets go to waste! The screening is at 6pm on August 1st, after an “entrepreneurs convention” (who knew entrepreneurs had conventions?) at the Convention Center.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go get my hands on one of these:

Awwwwwwwwww yeah.
