Sa Va now on the internet

savaHey, Sa Va finally got their online store up (sort of kind of mostly) just in time for so-called Cyber Monday, which I agree sounds like it was coined in 1991 in an AOL chat room.We like Sa Va, because all their stuff is made in Philadelphia, which is good/interesting for a number of reasons.

Fair warning: I may get a little preachy about what a good idea it is to try to buy presents locally during the upcoming holiday season, but really, wouldn’t you be a little sad if all the non-chain stores winked out? Furthermore, when you buy stuff on the internet, all the taxes go poof! and are never seen again, whereas when you buy presents from a place in Philly, the money from the sales tax on your purchase PLUS all the various city taxes involved in running a business and having employees stay here, where we all benefit from them, it helps keep people employed, the city running, etc. It’s Our City at WHYY has a better explanation of this with some purty graphs.

Anyway! Like I said, I like Sa Va’s philosophy, I like that they actually post the measurements for each item in all the sizes so you don’t have to bushwhack your way through the ever-shifting jungle of “women’s sizes,” and I like that they’re creating jobs here. I also like the dress above, although it is out of my price range.
