R.I.P. Mew Gallery
We’re bummed that Mew Gallery, located right next to Sabrina’s in Italian Market, went under. They’d been open since October 2006, and they provided a place for local artists and makers of stuff to consign their wares in a brick-and-mortar (that term sounds really dated, for some reason) storefront. They’re closed for Christmas vacation until the new year, and are asking artists to come in and pick up the stuff they have on consignment before the final closing date of January 11, so if you were as fond of it as we were and want a last wander around the store they’ll still be open for a couple more weeks, selling furniture and fixtures and whatnot.
