Saturday through Sunday is the Manayunk Arts Festival, right on Main Street and it’s massive. Over 300,000 people are expected to attend, and the list of vendors is already pretty staggering.There will also be live music each day, varying between outdoors at Mad River and concerts at Pretzel Park.

Down at Fleischer Art Memorial on Catherine, the ARTspiration festival will also be taking place Saturday. Super family-oriented (or perhaps you’re nannying for the summer?), activities include button making, portrait painting, and also something called “Play With Your Food” which involves eggplants, characters, and creativity. I’m in.

Down at Spool on South Street, the Oliver +S trunk show is nearing its end (around until Sunday.) The line is basically a collection of sewing patterns for children’s clothing. Some of the shirts are just so goddamn cute, they make me want to grab some pique cotton and get to work. And this is coming from someone with no technical sewing ability to speak of.

Pterodactyl gallery is hosting a BIG ART SHOW this Saturday to celebrate their first birthday (yes, it involves cake.) Starting at 8pm, stop by (suggested donation of $5) to see artwork by local community members (anyone can show!) hosted throughout the venue. There will be live music by Oso, TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb, and also, did I mention cake?
