What To Do This Weekend
Good morning everyone!
Tonight at Bus Stop Boutique, the opening reception of photographer Jean-Jacques Bernard’s “Common Grounds” exhibit opens. Entitled “Oulan-Bator’s Blues”, this is the first installment of a three part collection that will premiere across the city (next week his work will be on display at Vintage Wine Bar.) Bernard focuses on showing his audiences the common grounds of our daily lives, ones that unknowingly unite us. Join the artist and sip St. Germain cocktails with Bus Stop owner Elena Brennan from 5:30-8:30 tonight.

TrickGo is also hosting an opening reception tonight from 6-9pm–Anni Altshuler’s “Best & Better”. You may remember awhile back looking upon a zine party hosted at TrickGo. The collaborative effort was also another of Altshuler’s ideas. Normally a member of the Space 1026 collective, Altshuler goes solo for this exhibit.

Support the Philadelphia Community College by attending the school’s Immortal Fashion Show. Seven students from the summer fashion program will show five creations each. The free show is scheduled to take place from 1-4pm this Saturday in CCP’s Bonnell building.
Pterodactyl Gallery’s support of emerging artists continues with another Big Art Show, very appropriately titled Hot as Hell, this Saturday starting at 8pm. It’s free to show, free to attend–everybody wins! Email BIGARTSHOW [at] pterodactylphiladelphia [dot] org if you’d like to show or just stop by and enjoy free music by local bands and peruse everyone else’s creations.

All weekend long, the South Street Headhouse District will be celebrating the end of summer with a Summer Samba Festival, including musical performances, capoeira demonstrations and, of course, samba dancers throughout South Street. On Sunday, head to Beadworks at 12pm for a jewelry design class by Brazilian designer Priscilla Costa, where she’ll teach attendees fuxico, a Brazilian design technique.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi, unglaublich schöner Post, den du da gepostet hast. Wenn du etwas ähnlich gutes lesen magst, würde ich, wenn ich du wäre, wirklich einmal diese Seite besuchen.
Appreciate for the interesting blog update. I was trying to subscribe to your RSS feed, but I couldn’t seem to get it working with my RSS reader. Is there something wrong, or is it my fault (I’m a bit of a technophobe!)?
