What To Do This Weekend

OK, so everyone and their mother knows about this. In fact, there’s probably a pretty decent chance that you yourself are already planning to attend, either as one of the shameless, flesh-baring bicyclists or amused/disgusted spectators. More than it is just an opportunity for old dudes to flaunt their wrinkly ball sacks in public, the annual event is about coming together to promote fuel conscious consumption and positive body image. Follow PNBR on Twitter (@phillynbr) to find out where everyone will be meeting up and for any other last minute deets. Saturday, 4pm. Free. @TBD

Should you be looking for a large, fun gathering with a less nudity—a lot less—head to Pterodactyl. For those unfamiliar, this event follows a very simple formula: music + beer + art = fun. Meet some friendly fellow art enthusiasts and peruse the variety of affordable artworks on display. Because there are no applications or judging, there’s guaranteed to be a unique mix of work. Each artist is given about six horizontal feet of space to showcase whatever they so choose. Saturday, 7pm. Free. @ Pterodactyl (3237 Amber St., 5th Fl.)

This educational and empowering gathering of local feminist zinesters, artists and crafters features more than 20 vendors selling art, mini-zines, buttons and vegan treats. There will be free and confidential HIV testing, raffles and several workshops throughout the day. At 2 p.m., the Soapbox, “Philadelphia’s Independent Publishing Center,” will show guests how to create mini-books, a maze book and a book that resembles a house. At 3 p.m., N.Y.C.-based feminist collective, For the Birds will help you explore writing as a tool for processing painful experiences. The event benefits Project Safe, an all-volunteer grassroots org that provides advocacy, education and support services to sex workers in Philly. Sunday, 12-4pm. Free. @ William Way Community Center (1315 Spruce St.)
