Two Stylish Fundraisers This Week

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Shops at Liberty Place are extending their hours for one night to host a fashion-forward, ladies-only soiree, the proceeds from which will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer. In addition to special discounts and incentives, guests will be treated to light hors d’oeuvres and desserts from R2L, Square 1682, Aksum, Brown Betty, and Godiva. A special cocktail along with pink lemonade and wine will be also be flowing throughout the evening. As for the night’s entertainment, 97.5 Ben FM fashion correspondent G-N Kang and the entire Ben FM Party Patrol who will in attendance providing tunes and giving gusts a chance to spin their prize wheel. Meanwhile, ladies can enjoy a special live Celebrate Wine demo, unwind with complementary message from Aveda and have a fortune-teller predict what’s in their stars during an on-site reading. Be sure to arrive early since the first 200 ladies will receive a goodie bag filled with items from the contributing shops. Tuesday, 5:30-7:30pm. $20. The Shops at Liberty Place, 1625 Chestnut St.

Project SAFE’s 2nd Annual Not-So Silent Auction
Switch up your happy hour plans this Wednesday and come out to support Project SAFE, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to ensuring the health, safety and survival of women in the sex industry here in Philly for over nine years. As you enjoy drink specials and hors d’oeuvres from Creperie Beau Monde, peruse an array of auction items from local restaurants, artists, shops and salons before placing a bid. Keep in mind that both the $5-$10 suggested donation at the door and any proceeds from the auction will help the organization in its efforts to open their own space in Kensington and provide late-night street outreach as well as maintaining and distributing bad date alerts.
