Today marks the tenth anniversary of The Art Shop @ Moore College of Art & Design Stop (22nd & The Parkway) and to celebrate this milestone, they’re welcoming locals to stop by anytime between 11 a.m-8 p.m. for a free cupcake and birthday card.
In addition to the shop’s usual selection of one-of-a-kind gifts, apparel, jewelry, paintings and prints, shoppers will get to marvel at the array of work from Moore artists, including 2007 alumna Aubrie Costello’s super cool silk graffiti installation (above). Stop by after work because from 6-8 p.m., students and alumnae will be joining in on the party, selling their own original creations.
Over the past decade, so many of the school’s talented up-and-coming artists and designers have relied on the shop to sell their work and considering the rough economic climate, this has become all the more important.
Oh, and while you’re there, be sure to check out the latest exhibitions on display at the Galleries at Moore, including a showcase of select garments from this year’s Jumpstart Fashion Show in the Wilson Gallery.
You can keep up to date on all of today’s festivities by “liking” The Art Shop @ Moore on Facebook.
