For Your Scheduling Purposes, This Is What’s Happening On New Year’s Eve At Your Local Concert Hall

If you’re gonna do up NYE, you might as well go (reasonably) big and do it with a show (or catch one before you go get lit up).

ELECTRIC FACTORY

Octane? Really? Seems after their “reunion” show on St. Patrick’s Day this spring, they decided there was too magic to keep it all bottled up. They’ll share the lineup with Kid Felix, Bong Hits for Jesus and The Endless March. The first 500 tickets are $10! So, yeah, tickets are $10.

UNDERGROUND ARTS

Fur Coat, Someone Else, Rob Paine & Dirty, Willyum, and familiarise ft. Cardona, Safarii, Jus and Shino. Damn, that’salotta dance heads playing in one night in one place. This is an EDM freak’s dream – each act is slotted as electronic/dance. General admission is $25, but if you have the cheddar, might as well spring for the $50 VIP package.

KUNG FU NECKTIE

gL Productions and Illvibe Collective team up with Dutty Chutney for a NYE Party. It’s hard to figure out much about what they’ll spin or if there’s a musical theme, but there’s a Continental Breakfast at 11pm, open bar from 8-10pm ($30 in advance, $40 at the door) and a $20 general admission after 10pm with a champagne toast at midnight.

THE BARBARY

Hands & Knees + Tigerbeats will turn both floors into hipstery debaucherousness. H&K on the first floor, TBeats on the second and drink specials between 9 and 10pm that include: free PBR, free Sparks, free Vitamin Water and vodka, and free H&K shots with a champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

SILK CITY

Silk’s got DJ Deejay, who knows how to turn out a dancefloor with pop hits. Unfortunately, advance tickets are sold out, but if you are aggressive and show up at 8pm, you can try to pay $40 to get in. They expect to be sold out by 9pm. But there’s a heated tent and two hours (9-11pm) of open bar with a midnight toast of champagne/high life. HA.

UNION TRANSFER

Making Time with Dave P, Sammy Slice, Dave Pak, Mike Z, Rocktits and Holly Sue Allen. And that’s not even all of the DJs that’ll be there. Boy, this should be one big huge dancefloor with a secondary room where Rocktits’ll hold it down. And boy’ll RVNG make some cheddar – tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. No word on drink specials or toasts.

THE TROCADERO

Brothers Past headlines with The Heavy Pets and Disco Sucks. Hunh. The show’s 18+ and starts at 9pm with $17 advance tickets and $19 door tickets. Which could mean The Troc’ll actually be all wrapped up with the show and not doing anything particularly New Years Evey.

THE THEATRE OF THE LIVING ARTS

The Devil Makes Three with Brown Bird. Also puzzling. $25 tickets for an 8:30pm door.

THE BLOCKLEY

House Party! Seriously, they’re channeling Kid & Play and serving up Jungle Juice for $4 between 9 and 11pm and there’ll be $4 Coors Lights all night. Hosted by BillyAbstract, there are also going to be Jello shots and Red Solo cups for everyone. $20 to get in before 11pm with a 9pm door.

MILKBOY

Nicos Gun with El Malito and the Fleeting Ends. No word on drink specials. It’s a $15 ticket with an 8pm door.

JOHNNY BRENDA’S

The War on Drugs with Purling Hiss and Avery Rosewater. SICK! Two of Philly’s finest team up to melt everyone’s face with in-your-face loud and harsh rock from PS before some of the finest stoner-friendly shoegaze scuz rock this side of the Schuykil. Tickets are $18 and doors are at 8pm.
