Attention all Philly-area supermodel wannabes:
To promote their new modeling competition series, The Face, next Saturday, Oxygen Media will be hosting a pop-up competition at the King of Prussia Mall, giving local gals a chance to channel their inner supermodels during “The Face Challenge.”
Going down in the Nordstrom Court from 11 a.m-5 p.m., contestants will each get to create their own video showcasing their skills and more specifically, emulating the signatures moves of the show’s international supermodel judges: Naomi Campbell (“Walk”), Karolina Kurkova (“Look”) and Coco Rocha (“Pose”). In addition to having their videos submitted to the YouTube contest page, participants will get a shareable animated image that captures their best look as well as four branded photos as a keepsake.
[NOTE: This is not a casting call. However, if you are legitimately interested in modeling, it’s definitely a great way to gain a little experience and exposure.]
Should you want to do a bit of practicing in advance, check out the challenge’s Web page where each of the judges have created a “call to action” video demonstrating their signature moves. Those who can’t make it out to the mall will also find instructions there on how to submit their own video.
As for the prize up for grabs, the winner will receive a trip to New York City where they and two very lucky guests will get dolled up head to toe by professional hair, makeup and fashion stylists for an exclusive photo shoot with none other than the host of the series, the incredibly handsome famed photographer, Mr. Nigel Barker.
The winner’s name will be announced during the series premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 9 p.m.
If you haven’t seen the promo, basically The Face is like The Voice, but for pretty gals who can’t sing. Each of the supermodel coaches will mold their own crew of ladies, battling against one another each week to ensure that in the end, one of their fresh faces become “the face” of a major beauty brand.
So if you’re a sucker for fashion and beauty related reality competition shows, this definitely sounds like one worth tuning into to.
