Not surprising, the most popular destinations Philadelphians were looking up directions to on their phones on March 17 last year were bars.
And since everything you do these days is being recorded and analyzed, you can be sure that skobbler, creators of the hit mobile navigation app GPS Navigation 2—one of the most downloaded navigation services available on iPhone—were taking note.
Here are the five most sought-after local bars on Saint Patrick’s Day, in order, according to their 2012 Philly-based GPS search queries:
1. Fado Irish Pub (1500 Locust St.)
2. Paddy Whack’s Pub (150 South St.)
3. Brittinghams Irish Pub & Restaurant (640 E. Germantown Pike)
4. O’Neal’s (611 S. Third St.)
5. The Bards (2013 Walnut St.)
While perhaps not the most bona fide of lists—as indicated by the absence of McGillin’s and Finnigan’s Wake—it still seems safe to assume that the above bars will be hosting exceptionally raucous St. Patty’s Day celebrations. For those looking to avoid the obnoxious swarms of drunks on Sunday, then consider it a list of five bars you’re going to want to stay at least 50 yards clear of.
