Vogue and Style.com have posted a few pictures and an article focusing on the movie-musical Nine. The pictures feature a phenomenal lineup – Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson, Fergie, Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, and Sophia Loren. Britain’s Daily Mail also has pictures up of the musical.

Glamour is inviting readers to select the best dressed in Hollywood. They’ve a also posted a slide show featuring unboring work outfits, while Marie Claire has a slide shows to help curvy girls find jeans and Michelle Obama’s signature look.

Lastly, NBC10 has information on Barbie’s latest makeover – done by Christian Louboutin. Apparently Louboutin found Barbie’s ankles to be too large, and made them thinner to complete the makeover. While we love Louboutin’s signature red bottomed shoes as much as the next girl, we can’t help but wonder – really?

Feliz Cinco De Mayo!

In honor of Cinco De Mayo, raise your margaritas at one of these spots. Ole!

Before getting the salt and rocks, take a peek at this dress. It’s so cute! Post drinks, you can argue for or against Barbie’s tattoos.

New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham took some pictures last week during the August like weather in April. His commentary is pretty entertaining. I picture him riding around on his little bike stopping to get these pictures, and it makes me smile.

Now, what was it you wanted? Rocks? Sugar on the rim?

A Tribute to Barbie

If she were real, with her perfectly matched accessories and impossibly shiny hair, you would probably hate her. You would wonder what kind of moisturizer she uses and how much does she pay for it.  You would swear that Ken is totally gay.  But since she isn’t real and was a classic yet potentially self-esteem damaging idol of every American girl’s childhood, why not give her some props?

The ever-evolving icon of American fashion, Barbie, is turning 50! To celebrate, top designers are making dresses for her to debut at New York Fashion Week.

Hollywood has been fixated on the image of Barbie for decades.  My favorite Barbie influenced characters are the deliciously evil ”Plastics” of Mean Girls.

If her tan and blonde is just too boring American college type of hot for you, check out these new lines of Barbie that are actually super hip in anyone’s eyes!

Another thing I appreciate about Barbie is that when she wears Juicy Couture, she doesn’t wear sweatpants and the label isn’t advertised in glitter across her ass. She wears an adorable dress that- believe it or not America -is JUST AS DESIGNER although the Juicy label is a small tag inside the garment.

Love her or hate her, you probably knew her for a time.  This blogger wants to know your fondest memories of Barbie.  Care to share?
