Expand Your Online Horizons

I can’t lie: I’m an online shopping addict. I’ll rarely ever purchase anything due to a lack of disposable funds, but it’s still a very therapeutic activity for me. Especially during spring break stuck in the suburbs, where my days consist of eating Nutella and watching awful Hilary Duff films.

As of late, however, I’ve been exhausting my usual stomping grounds (Modcloth, ASOS, Karmaloop, Urban Outfitters), and I’m too impatient anymore for Etsy (but that’s mostly because Etsy doesn’t have a “Stuff Lex Likes” link). Being the loyal blogger I am, I’ve decided to share some of my newest discoveries. Click “more” for the list!

Since tonight marks not only the end of the year but the end of the decade, there are some decade reviews out there, including this one that NBC10 put together – A Decade in Dressing.

Marie Claire has tips on how to keep your New Year’s resolutions. Cosmopolitan has ideas on what to do and what not to do on New Year’s Eve, and assuming you still have time to run around and get a dress, iVillage has posted 10 Ways to Dress for New Year’s Eve.

Lastly, these Rachel Zoe suggests the cute glasses to the left toast in the new year. If only she suggested them earlier, we’re thinking if we order online, it won’t get to us in the next 30 minutes. Sigh…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Totally Rad

fashion-femaleWe’ve noticed in store windows and magazines that the 80’s look is back in full force. At first we were telling ourselves that leggings, skinny jeans and big shirts were a little different this time, but a game that The Limited posted on Facebook confirmed what we already thought – the 80’s are back.

Glamour.com is asking how much a manicure is near you. We’re always big on the lower prices that salons offer during the week, but can’t always catch them because we’re busy typing blog posts, dear reader. Have you noticed a difference in prices from different salons, dear reader?

Cosmo has put together their top Halloween costume ideas, including a Kanye and Taylor swift couple costume, the Kardashian Clan, and Lady Gaga.

Lastly, here’s a video featuring the top 100 videos on YouTube – in under 4 minutes. Happy Friday!

I’ll be honest. I had no idea that the premier of Star Trek was going to be such a big deal. Apparently, it was a huge deal. Amongst those on the red carpet was Hayden Panettiere, who was rocking some new ink. Supposedly, Hayden had a tattoo of the word vivre – ‘to live’ in French, and has expanded upon it. I can’t quite make out what the entire tattoo says.  Can you?

Cosmo has compiled a list of 100 products that celebs swear by, while People.com has a slideshow featuring links to inexpensive options to ‘recreate the look.’

Also Paula Abdul performed last week on Idol, which I’d have to say was better than expected. However, BET points out, not many people actually want to see her make a comeback.  Do you?  Do you care?
