Key to Our Hearts

If you’re looking for somewhere to keep track of all of your holiday shopping and wish lists, look no further than Kaboodle.com. They’re currently featuring this USB drive on their homepage, which is shaped like a key.  While it’s probably not a good idea to leave your entire key chain hanging out of your USB port, the key is still one of our faves.

If you’re interested in cupcakes without the calories, FredFlare.com has just what you’re looking for. Fred Flare also has the cutest Holly Golightly sleep mask. Now if only we had a little mailbox to store our perfume like her to spritz on the way out the door.

While we were browsing through some December magazines, we noticed an ad for Dillard’s. Even though their closest store is in Virginia, you can still purchase things from them via text message! We found this dangerous and intriguing. By using the service Shop Text, you can register to receive updates on sales and promotions from some of your favorite shops, as well as make purchases. We registered but didn’t link it with our billing information — it’s just that it’s SO EASY to make a purchase that impulse buys could get to be too much of a problem.

Lastly, blogger Chandra Hayslett caught our eye recently. A former newspaper reporter who is in love with fashion, Chandra describes her love affairs with things like capes from Anthropologie and patterned tights. Chandra describes things in such an accessible way that we’re starting to fall in love too.

PW Style Blog hearts Glamour magazine.  They’ve always got great links to beauty tips, nail polish giveaways, and information on how to design your own Chanel bag. However, we’re not so sure how we feel about how Glamour feels about it’s readers. Apparently Glamour readers are supposed to be cheerful and bright – like cupcakes?

Marie Claire, which we suppose is Glamour’s direct competitor doesn’t just discuss cupcakes. They explain party myths and how common misconceptions might get you in trouble. Read up before you drink up.

Fashion week in NYC means random events throughout the city as usual with a fashionista twist.  Check out this list — the Olsen twins are working as DJ’s?

Philly.com features Fall Trends and women in Philadelphia workin’ Market Street like it’s a runway.  Philly.com also pointed the way to this inspiring article from Elle magazine. A homeless girl still found a way to blog and keep herself relevant, as well as catch the eye of an editor at the fashion bible. The story is better in the words of the one that lived it. Luckily, you can read the writings of this young woman who has already overcome so much. She’s currently being featured as a blogger on Elle’s website.

I’d rather be with cupcakes

We mentioned this a while back, but the Buttercream cupcake truck that got everybody squealing and flapping their arms when it was first announced has now gotten all its permits in order and ducks in a row and launches today. Clearly, they will do this in the cutest way possible, announcing:

OFFICIAL LAUNCH

FRIDAY AUGUST 28, 2009.

NOON. LOVE PARK.

BE THERE OR BE WITHOUT CUPCAKES.

And now you know! Now that the truck is mobile, you can track its location via Twitter, specialty-food-cart tracking being one of the very few legitimate uses of Twitter in my judgmental, wave-of-the-future-hating eyes.

BTW, did I mention we had a Twitter? It is also legitimate.

Extra, Extra

While I am a blogger and I do love broadcast, I still have a special place in my heart for newspaperss. Maybe that’s why I love these accessories that were featured on Nylon’s website.

Kate Moss and Topshop are launching a new site for fall/winter. While the site being posted does mean that summer is drawing to a close, it’s worth a look anyway. Also, I’m not a huge Kate Moss fan, but the slideshow of pictures when you first visit Kate’s section of the site are quite striking.

If you have two puppies – I tend to call dogs puppies regardless of age – that would like to tie the knot, make sure you check out the Largest Dog Wedding, scheduled to happen in Woodstown, New Jersey this Saturday.

NBC10 isn’t sure how they feel about plunging necklines. What do you think? I usually don’t mind, unless the woman is old. Saggy clevage isn’t cute.

The Frisky featured a product that will always make room for cupcake filling. Yumm. I’m a fan of baking…I think if I had one of these everyone would wonder just how I got so fancy.
