VMA 2011: The Most Memorable Look?
As always, last night’s MTV Video Music Awards delivered some pretty epic moments and performances. However, with Lady Gaga sporting only the same, normal men’s attire all night, the award for “Craziest Red Carpet Look” was actually up for grabs for a change.
Not surprising, it came down to Katy Perry vs. Nicki Minaj. Somewhere between Candyland and Barbie’s Dream House, these two ladies shined in the sea of rather unusually boring, predominantly black, red carpet fashion.
But there can only be one winner.
I actually really adore Katy’s geisha-esque dress and give her credit for changing into two other wacky outfits during the show. Yet, covered in craziness from head to toe, Nicki’s look had more going on then all three of Katy’s looks combined. Add a straightjacket and it would have been complete. Hell, she already had a mask.
In fact, I find Nicki’s elaborate ensemble so bewildering and visually stimulating that I would like to officially declare her my pick for overall best dressed.
That’s right, BEST DRESSED. If she had rocked this at any other award show, I might feel differently. But if you can’t come to the VMAs with stuffed animals hanging off you, then where can you? I’m not even sure how she managed to sit down.
As for my pick for the worst dressed individual of the evening, well, I would have to go with Dina from The Jersey Shore. It’s Rainbow Bright meets 80s coke-whore and just absolutely horrendous. Is this chick for real? I don’t know whether to barf or carve my eyes out with an ice pick and send them to Nicki Minaj to wear as earrings next year.

Pam Strikes Again
Pam Anderson’s planned visits to the area don’t stop with Rite Aid. Next Saturday, she’ll be hosting the opening of the 360 Lounge and Nightclub at Parx Casino in Bensalem from 9pm – 2am. The nightclub includes slot machines, a stage, 3 108-inch LED TVs, a 100,000 watt sound system, signature cocktails and an LED-lit lava dance floor that pulsates to the music. If 360 turns out to be terrible, there’s a Chickie’s and Pete’s at Parx Casino that’s set to open soon. Nice.
Katy Perry is Glamour’s cover girl this month, and they’ve posted a slide show of pictures, as well as info on some great sales – up to 70% off! A designer with local roots, Tory Burch is also having a sale. Her stuff still isn’t cheap but you’ll have the chance to save quite a bit.
Nylon and O Magazine tried out products so ‘you don’t have to’ – Nylon says that Sephora’s Zit Zapper works, and Oprah’s staffers say that everything was going well when they tried Bumpits, until someone asked if they had a Lego in their hair.
Lastly, Giada De Laurentiis has a new line at Target, but this Coke Can Fridge also caught our eye.
Karate Kid

Marie Claire recently posted a slideshow of pictures of their November cover girl, Hillary Swank. The Next Karate Kid sure looks glamorous and we like it.
Rachel Zoe is going to be on QVC selling her new accessories line! Just don’t be a creep and wait for her outside their West Chester studio. Just sayin’.
Katy Perry was seen in Paris wearing the French designer that’s making a comeback – Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. If the Francais has you tongue-tied, just call it JC /DC for short – sort of like how Yves Saint Laurent is also known by it’s acronym, YSL.
Castelbajac’s designs are full of Disney and Sesame street designs like the one seen on Katy. M.I.A has also been rocking their stuff post-baby, and we think Kayne would wear JC/DC if he wasn’t busy cancelling tours. Either way, this designer’s pop art creations are set for a big comeback.
Also at Paris’ fashion week were Chanel lovers Lily Allen and Rihanna. Chanel isn’t making a comeback since this French classic never went anywhere, but it’s set to be bigger than ever with Coco Before Chanel telling the story of the woman behind the brand.
A former consumer reporter has launched a new website called Lush Click. It’s cute. It doesn’t have an extraordinary amount of content since it just launched, but it has great potential. Mosey on over when you get the chance.
