Holy crap MORE stuff to do this weekend!
It’s crazy but without knowing it’d been assigned twice, Emily F and I each wrote a post and holy crap, we didn’t write about ANY of the same stuff so that just means TWICE the weekend to-do suggestions for you this week, you lucky ducks.
So, check it—It’s First Friday in addition to being the tail end of the Philadelphia Collection so events abound but my country-lovin-butt is off to Assateague Island for a weekend of camping with the wild ponies so report back and let me know what was good, what was bad and what was otherwise worth your time since I won’t be able to attend anything myself.

Today we suggest that anyone looking for a change when it comes to their hair takes a trip to Headhunters Hair Design on Passyunk Avenue. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today they will give a complimentary haircut with the purchase of any chemical service as part of the Philadelphia Collection. It’s fall now, why not got red and chop that mop into a pixie? Why not indeed! For more Philadelphia Collection Events and a plethora of trunk shows that will be happening this weekend click here (or see Emily F’s post)!

Lets keep our fingers crossed that the rain clears for this next one. Tonight in the Piazza enjoy another outdoor movie care of PUFF (Philadelphia Underground Film Festival) with a showing of The Horde. They describe it as “An end of the world battle between gangsters, cops and zombies.” Um, yes please, could there possibly be a better way to start your October? Film starts at 9 p.m., get there early to scope out your spot and pick up a brew or two at The Foodery.

The Philadelphia Open Studios Tour is back this weekend for October 2 and 3. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take a peek into the spaces where Philadelphia’s finest create, explore and produce their artwork. This weekend attendees will have the chance to tour spaces west of Broad Street. The East Tours will take place October 9 and 10. Studios are open from noon to 6 p.m. For more information click here.

Head north and celebrate the land of fishes, I mean Fishtown at the Third Annual RiverCity Festival. This free fest includes a 5k run, local music, artists, food/vendors and even get a little history too! Events start at 10 a.m. and continue all day.
