OCD-aggravating placemats

Some beautiful place settings from Ukranian illustrator and designer Grycja Erde.

I think if I owned these, I would probably only be able to sleep at night if I knew – KNEW! – that all the plates were in perfect alignment.

Fortunately for my boyfriend and unfortunately for those not dating a twitchy freak, it’s not clear how one would acquire a set of these. But if you’re super inspired (or an Anthropologie buyer, because come on, you know the wealthies would eat this up) you can contact the designer through her profile on behance.net, a website that’s basically linkedin for artists.

And hey, if the level of neurosis involved in owning matching plates and placemats isn’t your bag, you can always get them as a wedding present for that twitchy freak who’s marrying your ex.

Loving: Melamine Kitsch-ware

“Mosaic” plate by Jackie Shapiro.

I don’t have a retro kitchen, I have an OLD ASS kitchen. Brady bunch style oven in the wall, the whole nine. Why fight? Of course I do the kitsch-en thing.

Loving the melamine dishes. What IS melamine? Does it give you cancer? I don’t eat off of mine.

Get ‘em at Loft Party.
