Father’s Day Gift Guide: Part 1
If you don’t already know, Father’s Day is Sun., June 17. That gives you less than two weeks to find your papa an awesome gift.
And while dads are generally much easier to please than moms, let’s face it—most of us take advantage of that, settling on lame last minute Father’s Day gifts, year after year. Personally, I know my dad has at least 50 different Phillies shirts at this point.
So to help you out, we’ve tracked down a slew of cool and practical items your father might like, such as these…

Trend Alert: Color Blocking
As an avid reader of our blog, you are more-than well aware that bright, bold colors are the cat’s meow this spring. Now, fashion gurus and style website moguls alike are preaching a new trend that will allow you to wear your favorite bright colors all at the same time. Enter: Color blocking.
The trick to mastering color blocking is to resort to something we learned in 2nd grade art class, the color wheel.

Color blocking is when an outfit contains blocks of color (duh), usually involving contrasting hues or different shades of the same color. The most basic rule of thumb to follow is to avoid colors on the exact opposite sides of the wheel. Instead, you want to follow the rule of two-thirds. The rule of two-thirds is fool proof, having you create an equilateral triangle.
After making your triangle, use two of those three colors and pick a third color from outside of your triangle. For example, an outfit comprised of pieces that are shades of orange, green and blue would be fashionably fierce. Check out how some of our favorite designers show off their color blocking talents.

Jason Wu for Target
In case you haven’t heard, Jason Wu for Target will become available in stores and online on February 5 – less than a month away!

Curiosity was sparked amongst young Hollywood starlets after Michelle Obama wore a Jason Wu gown to President Obama’s inauguration. Now, Jason Wu is practically a household name in the fashion industry. The collection stays true to the whimsical and boldly feminine elements that Wu’s strong fan base has come to expect. While some pieces are overtly trendy, others – like a simple black and white, skirt, blouse and scarf ensemble – stick to a more classic look, but the feminine details are unmistakably Jason Wu.
“My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu told New York Times, in reference to a previous collaboration. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”
The collection will only be available from February 5 to March 6, and product prices will range anywhere between $19.99 and $59.99. Peep the complete lookbook on Target Style’s Facebook page.
