Every year we honor those who have died while serving our country abroad in the best way possible—by going out and shopping! In fact, according to a recent study, that’s the third most popular activity during Memorial Day Weekend.
If you too would prefer to shop over spending quality time with your family, you’ve got lots of options.
Arcadia Boutique: On Saturday and Sunday, both locations are marking down brand new spring/summer styles an addition to an extra 20 percent off all their spring shoes and denim.
Topstitch Boutique: The bad news: one of the best places in the city for unique vintage clothes, jewelry and accessories will be now officially closing its doors forever next week. The good news: On Saturday, all that awesome vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories will be 50 percent off on 6-10 p.m. They’ll also be having a good-bye party during that time.
Sugarcube: Now till Tuesday, you can get 40 percent off any women’s fashions from Gestuz, Julie Park or Shae. Should you be on the market for a cute new bike, Pendelton Chief Cruisers will also be 20 percent off and come with a free beach towel or t-shirt. I actually like the bike more than I like the clothes.
Off Broadway Shoes: If you haven’t stocked up on your summer footwear—now’s the time. They not only have some really nice sandals (and sunglasses and bags to match), but tomorrow through Monday, you’ll get $10 off a purchase of $39.90 or more.
Philadelphia Premium Outlets: Just a little under an hour drive away in Limmerick, PA, they’ve got 150 name brand outlet stores including Ann Taylor, Last Call by Neman Marcus, Michael Kors, Banana Republic, Kate Spade, Converse and Coach. They’ve extended their hours all weekend from 9 a.m-9 p.m you’ll get additional discounts on items already 25-65 percent off.
Old Navy: Through Monday, select styles of graphic tees and swimwear will be on sale from $6 bucks. All clearance items will also be an extra 50 percent off. I don’t even like Old Navy, but for $6 bucks I could.
If you would rather beat the crowds, you can do some shopping online as some of the larger retail stores (including Macy’s) will be offering free shipping all weekend on top of their other various deals.
If there’s one thing I’m not into, it’s the falling of more white stuff from the sky. Some white stuff I am into, however, are these powder coated rings from Rabid Fox, available over at Topstitch Boutique.
