L’Union Fait La Force

In order to help alleviate some of the suffering in Haiti, there are a number of ways to donate. There are the charities that have been well publicized including, Red Cross and Red Crescent (read: if you enter the name Gaia Online under company name, Gaia, an anime themed website, will double your donation) UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres and Wyclef Jean’s Charity Yele — all of whom are all accepting donations.
There are also companies that are giving percentages of their profits to Earthquake Relief. One of these companies is Unique Vintage. The Burbank, CA based vintage-inspired clothing and accessories boutique and online store is donating 20% of sales from their umbrella collection to the American Red Cross from now through the end of January. Unique Vintage has been featured in Oprah Magazine, but the umbrella prices won’t break the bank. Plus, part of what you spend will go towards helping those who really need it, and what could be better than that?
Also, if you put money in Philbert — the stone pig at Reading Terminal Market, the proceeds will go towards Earthquake Relief as well.
