The hemp shirts and rainbow flags hide a bitter truth

I thought Vermont was supposed to be progressive. My cousin lives on a farm there, and he and his wife don’t believe in electricity or store-bought cheese or whatever. I’ll bet they voted for Nader.

The Burlington Free Press reports that a proposed mental health facility has been nixed because it would have a “negative impact on property values.” That’s so offensive. I want to move into that neighborhood and adopt 30 cats and decorate my lawn with Jesus figurines and pinwheels. So there.
