I’m still at work

So why not blog? I’m trying to decide what my next video should be. I just tried to do a montage of postcards with music in the background, and I sickened myself. I’m really, deeply untalented sometimes.
What I’d really like to do is dress up like a torch singer and present a jazz song I like—maybe “Bewitched” or “Lush Life.” I’m convinced if I present the songs the right way, I can get a whole new generation of hipsters into the Great American Songbook. On the other hand, I can’t really sing. Obstacle? We’ll see.
Tonight I think I’ll take the camera home and photograph the glider babies squirming around. If that doesn’t make it onto Cute Overload, I don’t know what will.
Meanwhile, above is a random image from Philadelphia. I took it in the park yesterday. The people on the right seem blown away by this guy’s breakdancing moves, which were, indeed, impressive. But I was kind of blown away by the fact that the woman to the left, aside from having perfectly coiffed hair, had a bird with her—a pet bird—and it wasn’t flying away. Which begs the question: Does it even know it’s a bird? And that the other flitty things in the park are its kin? Maybe it thinks it’s a dog, as so many parrots do. Or even human. But if it understood the exquisite fellowship it shared with the sparrows—man, that dark-haired chick would be history.

Long live the art of torch singing! Ow.
You have to play the piano and sing Woodsman Save That Tree.
