Sometimes I can't easily get books I want to read because of where I live. For a few weeks I've been thinking I might want to read Charles Bukowski's "Notes of a Dirty Old Man", but haven't been able to find it anywhere near me. Someday I might travel a few miles from home to see if I can find a copy. Another book that might be interesting is "Lincoln's Melancholy" -- sort of an inspirational true story.

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you love accents out loud this is a great one to try: Try reading aloud the book "Trainspotting." It is written with the accent built in...tremendous fun. :) It is a great movie too.

Ahh! There is nothing like a book! I am drowning in books and I LOVE them! I love the smell of a new book and the bent pages of an old book. I loved Judy Blume too. I couldn't get enough books when I was a kid. I just inhaled them. The highlight of my childhood was ordering MY VERY OWN books from scholastic. If only I could have ordered every single book I would have died and gone to heaven right there. I just started reading a couple of books about ppl with schizophrenia. One is "The Day the Voices Stopped" by Ken Steele. I'm not much into it, but pretty good so far. The other book is...here somewhere...falling over books...here it is: "Recovered, not cured: a journey through schizophrenia" by Richard McLean. This one is shaping up quite nicely. Still not that far into it, but I like it. It has some interesting art work of his too. Another book I recently finished is a strange, quircky and somewhat disturbing book called "Perfume" by Süskind I believe. It is a German book originally. Total fantasy. A speedy fun read. You'll never think of the sense of smell the same way again! Sorry this is so long! I LOVE BOOKS TOO is what I meant to say! hehe.

How about starting a thread/post of book recommendations. I went at the library today and found myself at a complete loss as to what to pick to read. I ended up borrowing a dreary little book titled "Leaving you: The Cultural Meaning of Suicide" So, you see, I can clearly use a few more sanguine suggestions!
