Photographic Representations of Ickiness
This is an image by Flickr user Julianne Hide. She calls it Clinical Depression, and I think you can see why.

Here’s another called DePrEsSiOn by dcassaa:

This one is Lost by Bewdlerian:

This is by Esther_G, whose stuff is really disturbing. This photo in particular blows me away with how much it resonates for me. It’s called 4:48 psychosis:

Can’t remember how I found dreamhours.com. I find the artist’s montages disturbing. Beautiful, but disturbing.
Two examples:
Precatio

Lake of Ghosts

To some degree, all images are Rorschach tests. Compare my reaction to “Precatio” (”World without life….in all directions, the void”) to that of an upbeat friend (”I love winter nights! This makes me think of Christmas Eve in a little European town!”).

(Note: I have better luck browsing the site with IE than with Firefox. Once in the picture gallery, run your mouse along the upper right or left edge of the photo for “Next” and “Previous.”)
Those are some powerful photographs. The titles are very apropos. They stir up some deep emotions. Thanks for sharing those with us.
Got some Dark ones for you Liz…

I did them specially for an artist working to end the stigma against people with mental illness.
